Character Name: Tohka Yatogami
Character Canon: Date A Live

History: Wiki link here

AU History:

Tohka honestly doesn't remember anything about her early childhood at all. Everything before she was five was simply...completely forgotten. She'd come from an undiscovered settlement far from Union, which no longer exists, destroyed by a herd of rampaging Pokémon, however, Tohka survived only because she'd transformed into her Inverse Forme. However, afterwards, she was adopted by a middle-class family in Union after being found wandering lost and confused just outside the city. From there, she was raised like any other child for the most part, although she was certainly...not that normal. While Tohka was eager to learn, she wasn't the best or brightest, even though she gave it her all.

What she did excel at, was fighting. She often got into little fights or spats with other students, and that's when her Enlightened abilities really started to show. Her physical strength was astounding, much to the dismay of the poor students she fought. She was reprimanded for it of course, but Union officials found a way to help avoid further conflicts. By aiming her elsewhere.

So she was made a trainee in the Swords of the Savior. Rather than try to hold her back, it seemed best to discipline her and train her to use her strength wisely. Or Try to, at least. She actually made a few friends in the Swords, and really enjoyed showing off what she could do. There were times she grew frustrated with things, but she always seemed to bounce back.

Surprisingly, she was actually made a fully fledged member of the Swords. As such, she was expected to do everything anyone else was supposed to be able to do, which was met with...varying levels of success. And while her methods were not always the most graceful, she usually got the job done. She was even sent off on a mission to a distant place along with a few other Swords members.

She'll just be returning from said mission when she arrives in game. What it is, I'll leave open, but it was probably just a recon mission and they...got lost. Or something. Odds are, they were probably not expected to return. Surprise!

Canon Personality:

Tohka's most noticeable trait is how easily excited she gets. From seeing something new for the first time, or winning a game, she just gets very loud and will most definitely drag someone along with her. She's very pleased with herself when she accomplishes something, whether it be as simple as baking cookies, or well, really anything else, so long as she succeeds. She'll even brag about it. It's really almost child-like how she behaves most of the time. So she's in pretty high spirits most of the time. In addition, she's very curious and pushy about learning new things, as in canon, before she came to earth, she really didn't know anything. So naturally, there's a charm to seeing and learning things that she's never seen or heard of before. Even if it's something awkward. One of the things that gets her worked up the most is food. Tohka loves food, and she's quite a glutton.

On the flip side, it's also pretty easy to upset her. She really does try her hardest at everything, albeit sometimes too hard, and if she fails or messes something up, she feels really bad about it. It's to the point of depression sometimes, and it isn't uncommon for her to ask multiple times if it's really okay if someone says so. That said, she's pretty much afraid of failure, afraid people will reject her. So it only stands to reason that she never gives anything but her all, no matter the task or situation.

While Tohka isn't a genius by any means when it comes to emotional matters, she's at least capable of being able to determine if someone is upset or if something is obviously wrong. If she feels one of her friends isn't having such a good day, she'll try to cheer them up or do whatever she can to help them. She's even shown to be fairly perceptive when it comes to thinking about things like that too, even if she doesn't fully understand it. Whatever the case though, Tohka's own feeling are usually pretty easy to tell. She can't easily hide how she feels, and it really shows.

One of the downsides to having nearly everything being new to her is that she's pretty gullible. Without anything to compare things on earth to, she doesn't have much of a choice other than to accept what she's told as fact. She doesn't even think to question beyond 'really?'. So it isn't difficult to trick her into believing something. However, she does have an understanding of the concept of embarrassment. So she's not going to strip for you or anything like that. (Well. Unless she really likes you.)

To go along with the fear of being rejected mentioned before, Tohka can be rather clingy when it comes to those close to her. She really dislikes being away from them, and worries that they might have abandoned her or something along those lines. She also gets pretty jealous if they're spending more time with someone else. It's a bit selfish of her, but she really doesn't think so.

If Tohka experiences a huge influx of negative emotions, she transforms into her Inverse Form. In her Inverse Form, Tohka's personality is radically different. The bright spirited, ditzy girl is gone, replaced by something more hostile, prideful and far more cruel. She doesn't care if there's collateral damage in a fight, and she'll even go to overkill...just because she can. In this form, she's pretty much a completely different person, and she won't even remember anything when she reverts to normal. The only known way to make her revert is to make her aware of who she really is again. While she may not remember anything from her normal form in Inverse Form, she retains some form of awareness, although it's only vague. Some people might seem familiar, or she might fear something she did when she was normal.

AU Deviation:

Tohka is mostly the same as she was in canon! The only real difference is that she was raised in Union, so she isn't unaware of everything. So she's...slightly less gullible and curious about most things. But she's still super excitable, gluttonous, and still not the brightest of the bunch.

Canon Abilities: This can be found on the wiki!

Enlightened Abilities:

Tohka will be a Fairy/Steel Enlightened with the God of War perk.

Her attacks will be pretty much offensively based, using a mix of steel, fairy, and blade-like moves, along with Protect (as she can block incoming projectiles in canon with a weird barrier thing). As she evolves and grows stronger, her physical attack will go through the roof, although her special attack and speed won't be anything to laugh at, either. Her defenses will remain about average, with her physical defense being lower than special defense. She will also keep her ability to launch ranged energy attacks with her sword (which will be Fairy typed).

She'll have her trademark sword Sandalphon with her as well, the only thing she carries from her past. It'll be a Fairy enhanced weapon, that will allow her to deal physical damage with some of her special attacks. She can transform Sandalphon into a more powerful form - Halvanhelev. While stronger, it's less accurate, and more prone to cause unnecessary destruction. She knows how to use it, but it's not something she'll use lightly.

Tohka will also be capable of changing into her Inverse Forme, and just like in canon, will only be possible by going through an enormous influx of negative emotions. (Like if one of her friends died or was severely injured in front of her. Or god forbid if anyone publicly rejected her as a person.) In this form, she will gain the Dark typing. Her Inverse Forme's attack will be doubled as if under the effect of the Sheer Power ability. Her speed and defenses will go up as well. Her power level may be pretty high, but she's still on par with other Gods of War. While the only way seen to restore her to normal is to make her aware of who she is, knocking her out will work just as well. All of the other side effects like in canon will remain. (Not remembering anything.) In Inverse Forme, Sandalphon transforms and takes on a darker appearance and becomes Nehemoth, with its stronger equivalent of Halvanhelev being Paverschlev. (In this form, her sword's attacks will count as both Fairy and Dark.)

She also has the ability to eat an inhuman amount of food.

Starter Pokémon: Goomy ♀ (Squishy)

Notes/Special Considerations:

I pretty much just want to ensure her Inverse Forme is okay! It likely won't be relevant unless something really serious happens, but it could also be used plot-wise for something. I have ideas, but that's only for you mods!

SAMPLES

First-Person:

[The first thing anyone gets to see is a super close up of a girl's dirty face. Although dirty, she looks extremely happy. Tohka honestly has no idea how long she's been gone, but that doesn't bother her right now.]

Heeeeey! I made it back, everyone! It was really tough out there, but I did it!

[Surely someone will be excited to see her triumphant, but unexpected return, right? Her smile turns into a thoughtful look for a moment, before she remembers something, reaching down and plucking up a Goomy with her free hand, which just sort of dangles and looks confused.]

Oh yeah! This is Squishy! I found him when I was on my mission! Isn't he so cute!

[Why did the poor thing just appear to sigh? The world may never know.]

No one can eat him, though. I tried, and blech! Anyways, I should probably check in with the rest of the Swords. But I'm back! If anyone wants to hang out, just let me know! I'm starving!

Third-Person:

-To what lengths would you go to rescue your allies if they were lost in the wilderness?

I'd do everything and anything I could! Even if I got hurt, I wouldn't mind if they would be safe.

-What would you say the most important occupation is within Union?

The Swords! They save people and fight off bad things! Without us, who would defend everyone?

-What does the story of the Savior mean to you?

Um...it means that we shouldn't treat our Pokémon badly, right? We shouldn't treat other people badly either!

-A human has attacked a wild Pokémon who retaliates in defense. How do you respond and whom do you defend?

I guess it depends why they're attacking the Pokémon in the first place...but I'd defend whoever was in the right! [Or whoever she believes to be in the right.] I'd just knock the bad one out.

-When encountering a rare and powerful Pokémon, what is most important? Researching it, bonding with it, or defeating it? Why?

Ooooh, that's a tough one! I dunno, it would be cool to have a really rare Pokémon with me, but it could be a great way to test my strength, too!

-What strengths make you most qualified for your role within Union?

I'm really strong! And I try harder than everyone else! I'll never give up, no matter what. I wouldn't be much help if I did, right?

-What area do you seek to explore? The peaceful forest, in search of new, previously overlooked discoveries; the uncharted caves, in search of the unknown; or the wildest of mountain terrain, in search of danger, adventure, and thrills?

All of them! It would be so, so cool to find something new, but I like a challenge! If there's no danger, there isn't as much fun.
